Amethyst's backstory

Amethyst is a full blooded Dwarf from Brevoy. Her mother was very involved in worshipping Pharasma and well regarded in Brevoy's Pharasma religious community. Her father is a retired miner and jeweler, particularly interested in religious adornment. Amethyst, an only child, never felt much personal connection with others, but she did feel a deep connection to Pharasma, and as a result, is very religious. Amethyst felt that is was natural for her to choose a devout path in life. After many years faithfully serving the local Pharasma temple, as a acolyte and a teacher, Amethyst felt restless, as if there was something more she was supposed to be doing with her life. This lead her to seek guidance from elder officials at the church. A prophecy was revealed to Amethyst, indicating that she was to use her knowledge to protect her fellow Pharasma worshipers and fight all undeath, in Pharasma's name. If she did this, she would ultimately achieve great wealth and spiritual happiness. Immediately after receiving this prophecy, Amethyst heard that Lord Noleski Surtova needed explorers, and she thought this may be a way to find the undeath she must destroy. Amethyst feels that this journey will help her find the path through this prophecy.
